The party was angry birds themed, and it came out awesome!! There was lots of things I made for this party, like this cool banner made out of paper iPhones:
And this sweet paper mâché hat box, that I turned into the coolest gift box ever!!!
And here's what the inside looks like:)
Next I made Danny's cake and frosting all by myself. From scratch! And here's proof...
Looks tasty don't it?! Then later that afternoon me and Jax were wrapping daddy's presents and we had to stop and be silly;)
Lol! I love my little guy! He's so silly and he cracks me up every day!! Next we baked the cake! Jax had to help of course. Help slick the batter I mean...
Yumm!! He wanted to have more, but i had to stop him because he's allergic to eggs, and about 1 minute after this picture was taken he broke out in red itchy hives all over his face and neck. Luckily I have hydrocortisone on hands at all times, so I slathered him up and a few minutes later he was back to normal.
I tried my hand at marshmallow fondant for this cake. I wanted to do fondant, but the real stuff is expensive and tastes nasty, so I opted for the marshmallow version, which tastes much better. Thanks to my best friend Betsy for showing me the ropes on how to get the fondant just right. This is just after putting the fondant on and applying the eyes/nose/ears:
Then I added a happy birthday sign and a few candles and let Danny go to town:)
The kids played in the sprinkler and had lots of fun!
And the moral of this story is: if there is a piece of cake left that you put in the refrigerator, be prepared for it to be angry:
Lol! Makes me laugh so much just looking at it:)
Great-looking cake, Jessica! I'm very impressed. Glad to know we have that talent in the family - now if we could just live closer together...
